Thousand of comparisons are possible by looking across various combinations of cause of death, age, gender, race, and geographic regions.
Tutorials 3, 4, and 5 walk through how this can be done.
Here are two quick examples of the types of comparisons that are possible. The results are shown in MicroMorts (chance of million of dying in the next year). Remember bigger numbers indicate higher risks of dying.
Results for breast cancer risk for women across age categories comparing US to Europe. Note that breast cancer risks are very similar for the US and Europe. To investigate this further, you could look at other types of cancers, or individual US states, or European countries.

Results for circulatory risk for men aged 50-59 across US regions comparing whites and blacks. Note that blacks are more than twice as likely to die in every US region. The risks vary considerably across the regions.
